Vaccination

Vaccinations are recommended according to the following protocol:
Flu
Primary Course:
· Vaccine 1 (V1): First dose administered.
· Vaccine 2 (V2): Given 21-60 days after V1. (Horses are typically eligible to compete 7 days after V2).
· Vaccine 3 (V3): Given 120-180 days after V2.
Boosters:
· Standard / Leisure: Boosters must be given at least every 365 days.
· Competition / Racing: Bodies like the FEI and British Horseracing Authority (BHA) strictly require boosters every 6 months (specifically, within 6 months and 21 days)
Tetanus
Primary Course
· First Injection: Given from 4–6 months of age.
· Second Injection: Given 4 to 6 weeks after the first.
· First Booster: Administered 12 months after the second injection.
· Subsequent Boosters: Every two years to maintain active immunity
