Routine Health Care

We strongly believe that routine preventative health care is one of the most important aspects of responsible pet ownership and it starts from the day you bring your new pet home.

Here at the surgery we can help by advising you on the timing of different treatments and their application.

The most important ones to start with are:

For adult animals

- Annual vaccinations

- Worming tablets every 3 months

- Flea treatment (with tick prevention) every 4 weeks

For Puppies/kittens:

-Primary course of 2 vaccinations

-Worming : every 2 weeks until 3 months old

every month until 6 months old

every 3 months from then onwards

-Flea treatments: every 4 weeks from the time they go outside (care: some products are not safe for young animals, always check the label!)

Please see the links below for further information on preventative health care.

Emergencies

In these cases we will work with you to try and find the best option, this may involve referral to a specialist center for further treatment.
